The Path Towards Healing

At Bshvil Hamachar, we are dedicated to supporting Israeli army combat reservists as they navigate the path to
healing from the emotional and psychological toll of war. Our transformative multi-day programs help these brave
individuals regain their strength, resilience, and confidence to reintegrate into society.

Combat Reservists Face Unique Challenges

Rejuvenate their sense of well-being

Move from dysfunction, depression, and helplessness to a self-confidence, resilience and competence

Reintegrate them into Social Situations

To once again be meaningful members of society and community

Improve their day to day operations

Overcome social paralysis and move back into employment and higher education

Team Comradery

Move from a sense of loneliness to reconnecting with  comrades and building a support network

Israeli Society
Depends on
Combat
Reservists

Reserve combat soldiers not only serve in the military; they serve as leaders across Israeli society. We must invest in their mental health today, for a more resilient tomorrow.

PTSD symptoms: Intrusive thoughts, depression, aggression, dysfunction, sleep disturbances, feeling of guilt and alienation, and even suicidal thoughts

New Development Since October 7th:

In response to the horrific events of October 7, and the recall of over 300,000 reserve soldiers, Bshvil Hamachar quickly
mobilized and created shorter, more intense programs to address the immediate mental health crisis. These programs are
3-days in length and occur in Israel.

Multi-day Healing Retreat
Chilli Trupper
Duvdevan Unit
I felt the deepest pangs
of guilt for not being
there enough for the
friends who needed me
over the years.
During the healing retreat, I got
the chance to mend
what was possible, to
lend a hand to those
who had fallen away, to
be a better friend and a
better person.

Multi-day Healing Retreat
This trip saved my life.
I now understand that there
are others like me, that I'm
not alone.
I accept that it's okay to
enjoy the big and small
things.
I understand that my
reaction is normal, it's just the circumstances that were not normal.
Gaia Harris
Combat Paramedic
Yadin Gellman
Officer, IDF Elite Unit
After years of feeling
different from my team,
isolating myself,
I found my spot back with
the team.
The retreat changed our team's
life. We learned how to
express our problems, how
to support each other, and
provide a safe environment
for one another.

The ‘Initial Response’

I feel that I am better able to
share the difficult experiences I
went through with the people at
home.
(M. Rochev Shamayim Unit)

It helped me to be
patient with people who
have not experienced
combat.
(Y. Zama Unit)

It helped me get back to
my normal routine and
helped me realize I'm not
alone and feel more part
of the group.
